Sierra Guitars Sponsors 6th Annual Forecastle Festival in Louisville, KY

Charleston, SC, June 19, 2007 – Sierra Guitars proudly announces their official corporate sponsorship of the 6th annual Forecastle Festival being held on July 27th-28th, 2007, in Louisville, Kentucky. The Forecastle Festival, is a scenic, outdoor event based upon a three-part format: Music. Art. Activism. It is the largest gathering of musicians, artists, and activists in the American Midwest and will take place at The Belvedere, part of a scenic riverfront investment which attracts 1.5 million visitors a year. As part of their sponsorship, Sierra Guitars will be displayed and available for sale at the event, and a free Sierra Guitar will be donated for raffle.

The Sierra Guitars booth at Forecastle will display the full line of Sierra guitars where attendees can also sign up to win a free Sierra guitar. Uniquely inspired by the beauty of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Sierra Guitars are designed for the passionate and discerning musician, utilizing high-quality materials and original, cutting-edge design techniques, resulting in a clean, earthy acoustic tone, as expressed in Sierra’s philosophy, ‘Captivating Sound.’

Sierra Guitars is also an environmentally conscious manufacturer that supports eco-friendly causes such as the reuse of post-consumer products. After seeing the Sierra Guitars North American launch in January of 2007, J.K. McKnight, Forecastle founder, invited Sierra Guitars to become a sponsor of Forecastle because of Sierra’s eco-friendly approach to manufacturing musical instruments.

“Supporting Forecastle was a natural decision since our largest distribution center is located in Louisville and because of Forecastle’s celebration of environmental causes,” stated Dan Mahoney, President of Musicorp, Sierra’s exclusive North American distributor.

Combining the hardest working Midwest bands, artists, and progressive environmental organizations, the festival is expected to draw over 10,000 attendees from across the country this year. This year’s festival will combine national headliners, multiple stages, a regionally-curated art exhibition, fifty Midwest environmental organizations, educational panels, speakers, films, expanded extreme sports park, outdoor industry product demos, and more. In July 2006, SPIN Magazine highlighted Forecastle as “one of the Top 101 things to do in America.”
