Sierra Guitars Sponsors The High Sierra Music Festival 2008!

Sierra Guitars is proud to be a sponsor of the High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA July 3-6, 2008! The High Sierra Music Festival is a unique four-day music and camping festival that features an eclectic and boldly creative span of music from acoustic singer-songwriters and down-home bluegrass to high-energy funk and skillfully improvised jazz, rock and live electronica. Eco-friendly Sierra Guitars is a perfect fit with this environmentally friendly music festival and singer-songwriter Ashleigh Flynn, a Sierra Guitars endorser, will also be performing!

Sierra Guitars will be making a cash donation to the High Sierra Music Foundation and donating two Sierra guitars, an Acoustic Sequoia Dreadnought in Vintage Sunburst and an Acoustic-Electric Sunrise Auditorium in Natural, for raffle during the event with proceeds to benefit the High Sierra Foundation. The High Sierra Foundation was established in 2003 to raise awareness and funds for worthwhile organizations related to music, art, education and social justice. A portion of each High Sierra Music Festival ticket purchase directly benefits the High Sierra Foundation. In 2005 the High Sierra Foundation established a special fund to give direct aid to those affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and thanks to support from the High Sierra community we've been able to donate much-needed funds to the New Orleans music community. Direct aid grants were given to more than a dozen recipients.

Celebrating its 18th year, High Sierra Music Festival has evolved into to a 10,000 person event with more than 75 performers in a stellar line-up of national and international performers and is considered one of the finest showcases for emerging artists in the country. Past artists include My Morning Jacket, Nickel Creek, Umphrey's McGee, Son Volt, Page McConnell, Gov't Mule, Les Claypool, Bruce Hornsby, Steve Earle, Bela Fleck & the Flecktones, Medeski Martin & Wood, and many more. High Sierra Musical Festival also offers Artist Playshops to give music lovers a chance to see both emerging and established artists in an intimate setting, a Non-Profit Area to give various environmental and social justice organizations the opportunity to educate and gain support and Music Biz Playshops to give patrons an opportunity to learn more about the business side of music including management, marketing and publicity.
